Well if it was a one time occasion that probalby nothing to worry about. However this could be potentially dangerous to your relationship esp. if this best friend has feelings for you.

Well, as Pagan Rebirth said, it depends on the context. If I were really upset about something and my boyfriend wasn't around to comfort me and his best friend was trying to comfort me, I wouldn't think much of it. If we were standing overlooking the Grand Canyon and the ground started giving way beneath me and he was putting his arm around me to keep me from falling, I'd be very grateful. But if it was any other circumstance besides comforting and/or preventing me from falling, I'd be very wary - especially considering that my boyfriend's best friend is his married brother (and his other really close friends are all married as well).

Yes, he will burn in the flames of Hell for eternity.
In all seriousness, I think it depends on the context of which your boyfriend's best friend puts his arm around you. If he is trying to comfort you, it isn't necessarily bad; however, if it's out of lust, I recommend you tell him to stop.

Did you like it? If you did, then it wasn't a bad thing.
