well actually no,Popcorn contains fiber, providing roughage the body needs in the daily diet.
-low in calories -- only 31-55 calories in one cup of unbuttered, and when lightly buttered, one cup still only has 133 calories.
so just don't buttered ;)

No. Just like with any food, regardless of it's fat and calorie content, if you eat too much, you will gain weight. If you eat one bag of popcorn a day, you'll probably be ok. Also there are low fat options out there. They don't taste as good, but it's still good for a popcorn fix.

Air-popped, unsalted popcorn only has about 25 calories per cup -vs- 1 hard boiled egg which has about 75 -vs- 1 cup of Carnation Instant Nonfat Dry Milk (reconstituted) that has 80 calories.
But to answer your question, anything can make you fat given the proper circumstances.

Movie Theater popcorn does. I think its healthier than it used to be. And like everyone has said, its the oil and butter that does it.
But then why eat it without the oil and butter....
