I'm moving from the US to Ireland so it seems useless to register here and pay to ship my stuff later. Is there a place (or a nice department store akin to Macy's) where i can set up a bridal registry in Ireland and not have to pay excess shipping charges?

Normally I would have registered on Amazon.com.

Brown Thomas is a good store to register Bridal gifts on. Also the bride and groom get an extra 10-15% of the items purchased in either vouchers or money. Not too sure which.

Also the guests buying the gifts can opt to have them gift wrapped for you if they like. You (bride/ groom) can get them delivered on a date of your choice- something to look forward to after the honeymoon.

They have a website www.brownthomas.ie

Good luck with the wedding and the move!!

You should try Brown Thomas. They are an upmarket store. There is also Amazon.co.uk
Another place would be Meadows and Byrne, which is like Pottery Barn (ish)
