Five to six small meals is better for your metabolism. This way your bosy has a constant source of energy, and your not getting to the point of extreme hunger. Also its good to remember not to eat after seven o'clock, six if you think you can do it. You don't want to eat less that 4 hours to your bedtime. Thats when your metabolism slows down.

5 to 6 small meals a day. I've lost a lot of weight doing this. It keeps your metabolism and energy up. You won't feel as hungry throughout the day. Just watch how much you eat each time though. Calories, fat and carbs count as well as sodium, so keep track of how much you eat each day. If it helps, journal what you eat and when you eat it. Try not to eat past 6pm or 7pm at night. Try to get 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Walk for 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Drink lots of water and cut down on stress. Also, stretch often to get oxygen to your muscles. This will help you from feeling sluggish during the day. If you want more tips, I recommend a little magazine called Prevention. It's got some great information on meal ideas, simple stretches, best walking shoes and much more. Give yourself about two weeks to adjust to eating smaller portioned food more often through the day. It's NOT EASY! Don't give up! Good luck to you! You can do it if you put yourself to the test!

For diabetics, 5 meals a day. For all others three meals so that the digestive system gets some rest.

Good question. Multiple small-portion meals are better for you because it keeps the metabolism at optimum capacity. This means you are burning calories for energy throughout the day rather than letting some of them be stored for later (i.e. processed into fat).
