Its not sushi that is the problem, its sashimi. Sushi doesn't always have to be raw. If you were thinking about serving a child sushi I would say order a california roll. Its a good bet that they'll like it. Or start with something even more simple such as cucumber or cucumber and avocado. Yum! I'm not the biggest fan of sushi with raw fish, but I do know that people are confused with the difference of sashimi and sushi

I would not serve raw fish to any child under the age of six.

As soon as they can chew and swallow well. There isn't a danger to them.
