Take it from me, if you're shortsighted, wear your glasses ALL the time. Dont fight it. The more you tell yourself you don't need them and don't wear them, the more damage you do to your eyes. Basically, what happens with short and far sighted people is that the 'eyeball' has changed it's shape which then in turn, alters the focal length. In simple terms, this is the distance between the lens and the 'receiving' part of the nerve that relays the image to the brain. Short sighted means you have a 'short' visual length ie you can only see close objects clearly. Far sighted means the opposite
Wear your glasses for about 6 - 8 months and then, if you like, consider contact lenses. Some people cant do this (like me!) because they cant 'play' with their eyes, but most people get through it. Else, depending on your health plan or financial situation, you may want to look at Lasik eye surgery. But before you do this, research the matter thoroughly. Do NOT rush into this. And, make sure you go to a reputable opthalmic surgeon. You only ever get 1 pair of eyes, so dont take a chance unless you are 100% sure! Talk to other people who have had the surgery.
Good luck!

about the really component you may try is once you're examining plenty or doing a good number of close artwork do not placed on your glasses. That way once you do placed on them each little thing look great and actual sharp. This works if you're nearsighted. i'm fifty one with -3.00 and that i nevertheless see each little thing staggering p.c. up even as all of us is wanting examining glasses. I easily were doing that ever considering i began donning glasses even as i change into 12. i began at -a million.75

It's really up to you if you wear your glasses or not. All they will do is focus the light on to the retina, giving you clear distance vision- they will NOT make you eyes get worse, just as you will NOT be damaging your eyes if you don't wear them. If you don't mind living in a blurry world, and you're not driving, it's really down to you, but you'll be missing out on nice clear vision!
You will probably find your short-sightedness will get worse over time, as it does with everyone, so eventually you may find you need to wear them just to get around anyway..
Good luck..

It's called nearsighted. I have been nearsighted all of my life. It got worse until I was around 17 years old. You may want to check and see if you qualify as a candidate for laser surgery. Then you won't have to wear glasses. I take my glasses off when I read, but I'm getting older and I can't read with them on any more. I would get the surgery, but I don't know if I'll have to get glasses to read with or not.

Short sighted means these glasses comes because of heredity or you must be of younger age. That means you can read books up to 1and half feet but you can not see the person clearly up to 15 to 20 feet away from you.

Yes when you are nearsighted you need to wear your glasses all the time. Put them on your face and leave them there.

your eyes get worse the more dependant on glasses you become. so you could wear them all the time, but then you'd havr to stick with them or even switch to contact lenses! xx
