There is this loan company who is taking forever to process my loan. I need this money by next week sometime so I can pay for my tuition and fees. I sent them an email today saying that I was starting to get angry and that I would be calling them back again today. The woman I spoke with earlier said it just got sent to the final approval department yesterday and that It would take 5 to 7 business days. I told several people that I needed this money by next week and that I dont have 5 to 7 business and they said that they would help but someone is obviously not doing their job. When I call them back (of course Im going to be angry) should I yell at them and be firm or should I be nice and friendly? Im going to demand to speak with someone in the final approval department. I just want to know how should I deal with these people?

Be polite. You can be nice and firm at the same time. Whatever you do, don't yell at them. She has no reason to help you out if you yell at her. Instead, try asking her what she would if she were in your situation. Butter her up by telling her she's an expert and you'd really appreciate her advice. She may be able to pull some strings.

Sweety, you should have given them significant amount of time to process your loan. Loan process from any company can take up to two weeks or more because they are running background checks on you and there are audits to considered, and they have additional people who are also asking for loans too. If you wanted a quickie loan from a week that you asked, then you should have gone to a paycheck loan agency for that. Of course they have hidden fees.

Of course they know you may be frustrated, but being clear on your demands and needs does not mean you have to be rude. These are just people doing their job. Have you had a job where someone has come down on you simply for being employed there and they were havign a bad experience?? It is not fun. It will be better for you and better for those you deal with to be respectful and polite. I would definately want to go a bit above and beyond for someone who is being patient that for someone who is already pissed, whats the point??

You get more flies with honey than with vinegar. You should be firm but polite with them. Think about it from the customer service rep's point-of-view: Why should she help you if you are rude? Make them want to help you by being nice but firm in your request.

Be nice. People actually like to help folks who are in a bind and if you are non-judgmental and matter of fact, you will have better luck. Think about it... Who would you rather help? Someone who is nasty and mean or someone who is frustrated but basically nice.
