i made a challenge for myself to see how long i can go without eating fast food or any junk food, it started at the stroke of midnight in new years, So ive been going 4 days strong, but it has been the most difficult thing in my life. ive gotten alot of head aches and lots of mood swings yet im not starving myself im eating the same portions with all the nutrition ineed, i guess my body has been so use to junk and the can explain the head aches. My question is, how long do you think i can go without hiting a binge or messing up? also what kind of shape could i expect my body to go through if, i keep up this incredible streak( well for me)?

the mood swings and headaches are from your body going through "withdrawal" from the junk. the easiest way to keep it up is to rid the house of junk and make sure there are plenty of healthy snacks around the house. that way you don't get tempted to eat junk. also if you have a hard time avoiding it all together give yourself an "allowance". give yourself one day where you can eat one item that isn't that good for you. but make sure that one thing is portion controlled. congrats on eating healthier and good luck keeping it up.

my guess is you will go for longer than you think. after about 2 weeks of eating healthy, you will start to wonder how you ever ate fast food in the first place, and you won't want it any more. You will start to feel better soon too...make sure you are drinking plenty of water. And if you mess up, thats ok!!! Just don't go completely out of control. Reward yourself every once in a while with a piece of pizza or something...but not the whole pizza... Doing this will still keep the weight coming off, but make it so you don't want to kill yourself! I does get easy though after the first 2 weeks. your body will stop craving the fat, carbs and calories that you used to feed it.

Do not deprive urself of things that u like. Moderation is the key.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

it's a psychological thing.

you said that it's a challenge and so you've set up a battle within yourself.

if you maybe changed your diet for good reasons the war would end. after all, if you were to mingle in the right circles or the right parts of your community, you'd find that eating healthy isn't doom. there are cooks out there who prepare healthy food because they love it and to them it's fun. if you keep in mind the priority that what you eat should be nutritious you can still enjoy fabulous meals and/or snacks.

Great work...you'll end up having more energy and feeling so much healthier. You can splurge say 1 to 2 times per month or on specially occasions and then get back on track. Probably after 3 weeks you'll need the treat.
