Don't wanna spend a lot of this thing because I have a three month old and we're saving, saving, saving for him...but I would like to find my families obits and birth/marriage/death certificates online. I don't really have a lot of time to spend in the library, and ours doesn't have any resources anyway..

Thanks!

Hey Kaila,

Cindi's list has OBIT site lists that far exceed what you see below. You can get very specific about where, it may be a bit confusing, because Cindy's list is a list of lists and sometimes those contain lists.

You might also want to try that town's newspapers....sometimes they have archives online. Also try the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness website...I think it's www.raogk.com, but I'm not sure.....they have people who will do research for free. Or you might want to contact that locality's genealogical or historical society. Sometimes they have databases or have cut out obits from newspapers that they can check. I have used usgennet.com as a great database, but it depends on the county and the state as to how good the information is. Good luck!!
