Farsightedness means you have trouble seeing up close. Generally you would wear the glasses when do things like read or work on a computer or do crafts etc. There is no trick to getting used to wearing glasses you just put them on with the mindset that you now wear glasses. Your eye doc will tell you if you need to wear your glasses all the time or not when he prescribes them.

I'm VERY long sighted and I need to wear my glasses all the time because unless the things I look at are about 4 miles away it's all a blur.

This is a myth. If a person wore strong glasses they did not need, thay would not see very well whilst they wear them, but it would have no long term effect on their vision. These people, in wartime, were just pretending to be shortsighted. It follows therefore that you cannot "cure" shortsightedness by wearing long sighted glasses. It goes back to the old argument - if it were possible we would all be doing it.

So that Long sighted people can see things that are close to them!
Short sighted people can only see things clearly that are close to them
Long sighted people can see things a far way off but not things that are close.

You wear them for close work, like reading, sewing, computer screen. You don't wear them all the time.
Edit: the thumbs down are obviously from people who are so dumb they don't know the difference between short and long-sightedness. Get a life.
