Is there an adapter you can plug into a car lighter socket that will make it like a normal wall outlet?

I swear I've heard of these but I have no idea what they are called.

I've found other adapters online but can't seem to locate this type. All I need is to plug in a normal 2 prong cord, does anyone have any idea what these would be called and where I can get them?

The idea is to total up the watts of all devices you plan on using and buying an inverter that meets or exceeds the rating.

A 500 watt inverter runs about $70 and can be found in most any autoparts store, Wal-mart or K-mart.

As a combi Boiler is a fixed appliance it should not be connected to the electrical supply by means of a standard plug and socket arrangement. After rectifying this by replacing the socket with a fused spur you can check to see whether it is a ring circuit or not if it is part of a Ring circuit and not just a spur. If it is a Ring you can spur off the outlet to install a shaver socket *only a special shaver socket though* in the bathroom and as a matter of good practice make sure the circuit is protected by a suitable MCB and 30 mA RCD or suitably rated RCBO. If this all sounds too much call in an electrician you should be able to get this done for less than £50 hope this helps

It's called a 12 Volt DC to 110 Volt AC inverter and is relatively inexpensive. A price club is a good place to buy one at. Make sure the power output in Watts is at least 40% bigger than the 110 Volt AC appliance you intend to run with it.

Yes, you can find them at any auto parts store but also at Walmart. They are called 12 volt to 120 volt inverters. As cheap as $30 and as expensive as $200.

Just know the current rating (in amps) of the 120V item you want to plug in, the rating of the inverter you want to buy, and the rating of your cigarette lighter. At any rate, don't exceed the rating of the cigaretter lighter fuse.

You can get them at various retail stores such as Target, Walmart and Radio Shack. Just make sure you know what it is you want to power so you can check the chart that is usually on the package to get the correct unit. I believe they are called inverters

yes there called inverters,,they will take the 12 volts from the car and make it 110 volts ac current,,they work pretty good too any radio shack has them,and there not to expensive either,,good luck hope this help,s.

Yes, they are called 12volt to 110 volt inverters. Won't run much more than a laptop unless you step up and put a real AC generator on the engine.
