A grease cutting dish liquid without moistuirizers added (like Dawn or Ajax) will cut the oil that has saturated your hair without redepositing it back into the shaft. (not the kind for automatic dish washers BTW)
Only use a little bit of the soap though, and once you've rinsed....if your hair doesn't squeak when you run a strand between your fingers....repeat once more.

Well what you are going to want to do is buy a clearifing shampoo. Paul Mitchell makes a real good one its called Shampoo 3 you are going to want to get some of this and use it 3 times a week in the shower with your normal shampoo and a conditioner. Now I don't kwo what you are using on your hair for shampoo and conditioner but here are some products i can suggest from the sounds of what your hair is doing.
matrix Amplify Color XL shampoo
Matrix Amplify Conditioner(they only make one to go with their shampoos)
or
Matrix Biolage Normalizing Shampoo
Matrix Biolage Detangaling Solution
(those are what i am currently using . .i have very over processed hair but yet is still soft and shiney and i owe it to those shampoos and conditioners they don't weight me down, and i have alot of hair just thin textured curls and the detangaling helps so i don't have to wrip a comb through it after the shower) good luck!

You need to use a clarifying shampoo to get the buildup out. Personally, I don't waste the money on special shampoos. Dishwashing liquid works. Then, I use a light conditioner afterward. I have long hair and have never had this process damage my hair.

clarifying shampoo might help and if that doesn't work try dish washing soap that says it cuts grease.....it will strip all the oil. (i promise, this should work!!) i have definitely been in your situation before. then you might want to just put some conditioner on your ends and rinse it out so you can get a comb through it. i hope this helps!!

try using a volume shampoo or gel. I never heard of over conditioning, but then my hair is thick, its impossible to over conditon...lol....also next time try using a shampoo+conditioner, that may eliminated this from happening again.

Get some clarifying shampoo at the drug store. Something to take out all the chemicals.

don't wash it for a day or 2, then use a volumizing (non-moisturizing) shampoo without conditioner
