I have a MySpace account to keep in touch with friends and see what's going on with my favorite local bands....like where and when they're playing. It's nice having them all in one spot.
But, I am 31 years old. I don't use it to pick people up and I can't stand when perverts arrive in my inbox. I screen all new friend requests and rarely accept them unless it's a person I know or a band I've seen or would probably go see. I see no need to have 386 "friends" that I don't know. And, no offense, but the teenage junk that goes on there can be annoying.
It's up to you...it can be fun but it's not a mandatory life activity!

Myspace is just a fun way to meet new people and stay in contact with old friends.
It's addictive though.

Its different things for everyone..you can connect with people you don't see on a regular basis,find new friends,dating,find classmates you went to high school with..some people love it--some hate it..I personally like it. I connect with a lot of different people..old friends and also to keep up on what my daughters doing on the computer too(her myspace).So its ok to me.

Myspace is really popular, you can chat with alot of people from different parts of the country.

Its over rated, I just use it to keep in contact with friends from out of state. Some people try to use it to pick up dates, but ive found that internet dating can be really... misleading. Like, shes got niec headshots then you meet the chick and shes like 200lbs overweight.

you can create your own page and invite others to see it, it is like a community of sorts, where you can share ideas and have fun building your website
