some said that we gotto eliminate the yolk before consuming egg..coz "the cholesterol level in yolk is toooo high..it's bad for our health".

This is just a story, but here goes: a friend of mine and his roommate were trying to save money, so they ate pasta and eggs every day. Two to four eggs daily. This acquaintance was fine, but his friend ended up with sky-high cholesterol (in his early 20s, and neither of them were overweight) and had to go on a really restricted diet which he probably can't go off, ever.

So people react differently to it. It's all about balance. When I cook, I usually replace all or at least half my eggs with egg substitute (yolk-free), depending on what it is I'm cooking. Go with whites mostly.

One egg contains about 290 milligrammes of cholesterol. If your cholesterol level is good, you can eat 4 to 7 eggs a week without worries. If, however your cholesterol level is bad, you should leave the yolks uneaten.
On the plus side, eggs have a lot of vitamins A, D, E, K and B. And they are rich in protein.

Well.. if you boil the egg, the yolk gets bit soft/hard, and thats definately good for you. It depends on what type eggs you use, each contains diff. amount of cholestrol. Omega eggs contain less. You shouldn't take away the yolk, because the whole egg gives protein including the yolk. The max. amount depends upon your body, if your not too fond of it and just started on the eggs, give it some time. I would only prefer about 2- 3 eggs a day.

I have looked up a LOT of info on the Net and the latest medical data seems to indicate that all the noise about yolks being so bad for you was just a lot of "junk science." Seem that we now have "good" cholesterol and "bad" cholesterol and egg yolks are the "good" kind. I am reading now that eggs are one of the very best (and cheapest) sources of healthy animal protein (the very best kind of protein for the body to absorb.)

I personally eat two for breakfast almost every day. I have recently switched to buying "low fat," "natural," "organically produced," type eggs. I decided to try them and for the small increase in price, they are much better and more flavorful!

(eggs are so cheap anyway, they might as well taste better and be even healthier..... I have also read that if you eat the healthier eggs, you can practically eat as many as you want.....)

Try this - use one whole egg with the yolk and then add a couple of egg whites - mix - and then scramble. Less yolk - but still flavorful with the one yolk added.

Cholesterol is not a fat. It is a waxy fat - like substance produced by all animals including man. Cholesterol is necessary for many bodily functions and serves to insulate nerve fibres, maintain cell walls, produce vitamin D, various hormones and digestive juices. There is little doubt that elevated blood cholesterol levels increase heart attack risk.

yolk is full of cholesterol. avoid it. eat only white part of egg called albumin. it contains proteins. proteins found in 1 egg is equivalent to 3 cups of daal.

If you don;t eat cholesterol, your body will produce it anyway from other fats. Go ahead and enjoy!
