i have bad credit from a few years ago thats all paid off. any good lenders out there that work with bad credit

Do some research over at http://www.prosper.com. It is a online marketplace for people-to-people lending. You should be able to find a person or group willing to loan to you there. Also I would recommend you look into ways to start increasing your credit score. Good luck!

Sure. A credit union is the best place to go.
There are also a number of online lenders that you can investigate. You should find out as much as you can about several lenders so that you get the best terms with your loan.
