I am sorry to hear about your father's circumstances. I know you want the most affordable coverage out there, but it may be next to impossible to find something you would consider affordable.
Life insurance companies are out to make money, like all businesses. But, there are some that offer guaranteed issue life insurance coverage.
The drawback is, the rates may seem high, and the coverage is limited, at least for the first year or two.
You can learn more about this coverage and get a quote by clicking on this link http://www.term-life-online.com/guaranteed-issue-life-insurance.html
I hope that helps! Take care and best of luck to you and your father in the New Year.

For a person of that age and medical history, life and medical insurance will not be reasonable. insurance is based on liability factors and no matter how much insurance insists on being there for you, remember that the primary reason for most businesses is profit.
Sorry to say but at this point, your dad is more of a liability to the company so if you do get a company willing to insure, the premium is going to be exorbitant.
What you can take is family indemnity which will help with the funeral expenses. that is the best option available to you in your present situation.

Seriously, you're going to have a very difficult time finding any company that will even insure him with pre-existing condition like stroke and high blood pressure. Finding an affordable one will be impossible.

this is so weird, that I found it here today. My daughter in law Father just died unexpectedly without any information about a will, bank accounts, insurance. No plans for a funeral of course, as it was sudden. However he was a very intelligent man so it is very strange that his affairs are in such a mess! Excellent advice to everyone. Thank you very much. I am very sorry about your loss.

With his health problems I seriously doubt anyone would give him a policy. That is why people normally get their life insurance when they are young and healthy.

You will have to call the different insurance companies. I doubt you will find one with his health. And if you do, it will cost an arm and a leg.
