Unfortunately you cannot "spot reduce", meaning lose fat in specific areas of the body. As you conduct aerobic (cardiovascular) exercise, fat is lost generally across the body. The body decides where it needs to lose it. If you are concerned about keeping the shape of your hips and thighs, focus strength training on these areas. Adducters, Abducters, Squats, Lunges, Leg Extensions, Leg Curls, and Leg Presses are all great exercises to use. You'll be stronger and be able to burn unwanted fat faster by adding lean body mass into the equation. Don't worry, you're not going to look like a guy. Strength training is for EVERYONE!

A good way to loose weight is to use a calorie counter watch Keep to a 1,200 food intake Add 1,200 plus 3,500 (equals one pound of fat) ...and that is the total amount of calories you need to burn each day. Its actually really easy once you start watching the numbers and it doesn't seem like work or exercise. Its just a matter of changing the way you think about loosing weight. I use this method when i gain some pounds. The first time I did this I went from 168 to 127

If you lose weight, you tend to lose from all over. You can't spot reduce, but some people do lose faster from some places than other. For example I lose off my bust and waist faster than my hips and thighs. HTH : )

I most of the fat you gained is around your belly, then hopefully it will be the first place you lose it.
