Hi There
First off, Octopus and Squid are 2 different things. Octopus is octopus (that 8 legged sea creature). Squid is also known as calamari it is from the same family as octopus but has 6 legs I think. Anyway, I don't know how to cook octopus but it is generally either char grilled or cooked in a wine marinade. Squid is generally coated in batter and deep fried. When served, octopus looks like long tentacles whereas squid usually is cut into rings. I eat them at Greek restaurants and they are usually serves with fries and salad so there isn't really a meal to make these with. They are great as a snack by themselves though. I have found a couple of squid recipes for you at recipezaar: http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?q=calamari and octopus recipes: http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.php?q=octopus
I hope this helps!

I don't know about octopus but squid is easily over cooked. Overcooking will cause it to be tough and chewy.
Don't boil and then fry do one or the other.
If you fry make sure the oil is hot and fry until it lightly golden brown, salt them right out of the fryer and serve with your favorite sauce.
I leave these two sea creatures cooking to the experts. In a restaurant!

Those are sea food. The best ones are fresh.Squid is awesome.Octopus is awesome too, but different.Fir, you have to boil the meat.Takes at least 45 minutes to get cooked. Then you can make a sauce and have the meat with past.My parents are from Naples ( South Italy) and this dish is very popular there.

I dont think so... The doctor said no seafood or fish... well is not sea food or fish!! I crave it from time to time too but why would I jeopardize my baby's health ? Remember that this has the highest mercury level that is harmful for the baby. Just wait... after u have the baby you can have all the sushi u want... ;-)

boil it with a bit of salt, then cut into rings, mix with garlic, salt & pepper. Then roll in cornflour mixed with a bit of water or beaten egg & then bread crumbs and fry. Make a tomato & chilly based dipping sauce. its yummy!
