That strikes me as being a big red warning flag. Sounds like he is telling you he has decided your fate for you. Sounds like it is an issue of control, not love.
I'm assuming this was from someone fairly new in your life.

It may mean something different to you than it means to him. The best thing is to check with the one who said it and clarify with him exactly what he means.

No man has ever told me that and if he did it would mean he is gay so why he would say that to a straight man is beyond me... so it would probably mean that he is gay and either thinks I am gay or wants to convert me to gayness.
