Stop bathing her and start brushing her regularly with a fine tooth comb. Cats are not meant to be bathed with shampoos - it dries their skin and fur up and causes the dandruff that you are currently experiencing. I have a dandruff prone cat and I find that combing her every other night controls the flakes and it really makes her feel good.

If you find that the dandruff doesn't stop after a month or so of regular brushings then it's time to speak to the vet about allergies. I wouldn't start at the vet's office because they are expensive and tend to want to do all sorts of tests and treatments that may not be necessary at all.

The baths are CAUSING the dandruff...cats don't need baths. Stop with the baths and start feeding her tuna in oil (just a little bit) twice a day. This will help replenish the oil in her skin.

Oh, and STOP BATHING HER!

I'm not an expert but I also have a cat who had dandruff.

I bought some mousse spray that was supposed to be good for it, but it didn't help. I also tried a supplement but she HATED it.

I was about to research it some more when for other reasons I decided to switch her to canned food. About 2 weeks after a steady diet of this, her dandruff cleared up.

Poof. Gone. I was amazed! But I shouldn't have been. Canned food contains a lot of moisture which of course dry food does not. Cats who eat kibble must rely on drinking water, and that apparently is not something they particularly like or want to do. So by eating canned, they're getting hydrated which of course means their skin improves.

I used Selsun Blu anti-dandruff shampoo to treat a bout of dandruff on my cat. My vet advised it. Wet kitty's fur with warm water. Apply anti-dandruff shampoo all over body and lather. Leave on for 3 - 5 mins. Rinse COMPLETELY. Dry kitty with towels. Re-apply if needed 10 days later. Make sure that kitty dries in a draft-free and warm room after baths. Just one application actually cleared the problem. Oh, if you can find a mild anti-dandruff shampoo, that would be best. It is actually the ZINC in the shampoo that gets rid of dandruff.

By giving her numerous baths, you are actually aggravating the condition by drying out her skin.I have heard that changing your kittys' food works. But this isn't an instant solution. I have also heard about a product called Nova Pearls which is a moisturizer for cats with dander problems. Its not very expensive and I believe it can be found at your local pet supply store and or Wal~Mart or Target.

The baths are making the problem worse, since they're drying out the cat's skin. Cats don't need baths except in extreme situations.

What do you feed? If dry only, then switch to m ostly canned. Much better in every way for cats than any dry food.

There are diet suppliments that will help keep your cats coat healthy. I've read that fish oils help with dandruff. Check out the Dr. Foster and Smith page I attached. :)
