Be careful, or the one habit he may get rid of is you.

I think you've answered your own question.

He is drinking much too much (I know, I've been there and done that).

Smoking isn't good either. But, you have to take one thing at a time.

However, he will not quit unless he actually wants to. He must say, "I want to quit drinking." That's the first step. He must want to do it.

That doesn't seem to be happening right now.

It's up to you. What do you want your life to be like over the next few years. It sounds as if things might be pretty bad now, it probably won't get better unless something changes.

Good Luck!

Obviously if he drinks til he has no control of his man stick, then he has a problem. I mean. the limp think is really irritating! How bout you give him an ultimatum, if he chooses the booze over you then he's not worth having. Or maybe you could just ask him to drink less- I think thats a good idea. Allow him to drink, just set a limit, that way he can have control of his mind and BODY!

Yes dear, you should leave him...and as soon as possible. What he is asking you to do is unfair. Alcoholics will never change(well, most don't anyway). Find someone that will be good to you. Sounds like you deserve a lot better than what you have now.

Good luck!

Welcome to the world of alcoholism. He's not going to change unless HE wants to change.

He's giving a bad example to your children. For their sake. Leave.

Leave him...if he doesn't learn from you leaving then I guess he never really loved you.
