I've always been the one to dump, but it often seemed like I was given little choice.

Everyone has had to have been on both sides of the continuum so to say 'always' seems to be way too generalized but I guess I could be wrong. However, for the most part recently I am the one to do the dumping...(dumped the no-good husband and divorced him, dumped this wussy guy that I guess was my rebound bf, and then just broke up with a nice guy who just wasn't the right one for me).

Hmmmm, interesting question. I don't think I've ever paid any attention.

Let's see, starting with my husband since that will cover the very early 80's and forward:

I was the one to dump 3 times. I was the one dumped twice. Looks like it's about even.

I've been dumped so many times that I'm getting used to it

Dump means throwed away like trash, something you can dispose of and not want anymore. I have never had this happen to me and I have never done that to another person. Just because two people cannot get along or decide they are not meant to be together, it is best to still respect that persons decisions and deal with it.

My first boyfriend dumped me... that's the only time I've been on the receiving end. All the others- I was the dumper...

But now I'm married (7 yrs!!), don't plan on being either.

I've been married for 6 years, so dumping goes on. But before hand, I was the dumper!

I've been dumped once. I've been the dumper a number of times. But there've also been times when we mutually come to a decision together that it's time to end it. That's the least painful way.

I am always the one to be dumped. I never dump people and I never get mad when they dump me because I love everyone unconditionally. I just keep saying "please don't go away cuttie pie I want to poke you in the tummy!" I think my strange behavior has something to do with them leaving...

I've been dumped twice. It's a very painful thing.
