You must retrain your mind to stop obsessive thoughts. Whenever an obsessive thought enters the mind, tell yourself STOP and do not allow yourself to think it. Over time, the brain will be retrained to stop obsessing. I would suggest reading the book Brain Lock. It instructs on how to stop the obsessive thoughts which put your brain in a "lock".

The best treatment is to go see a psychiatrist, and not take a chance on a misdiagnoses or bad suggestion on a rather arbitrary forum like this. What treatment works best is going to vary from case-to-case, and you'll want a professional to work with you. Good luck!

First admit that you have a problem.
Second - admit that you can help yourself.
Third - get help by obtaining cd's that you can play to help in your car, or in the privacy of your home.
Fourth - play the cd's for a month - and see if your positive thoughts start to stay with you more often.
Fifth - Remember that change takes time and you are worth the work that it takes to get you there.

Relaxation cd's.
Also there are subliminal cd's, with ocean waves:

Positive Relationships
Forgiving & Letting Go
Rescripting the Child Within
Releasing Anger
Communicator
and many others depending on your wants & wishes.
