My cat used to do this too! I think they like being with you - and dont want to leave you even when you go for a bath, my cat used to follow me round like a dog. He came in the bathroom everytime I had a bath. He would start off sitting on the sink and then move down to the bath. He would sit at the end of the bath near the taps and try to get my toes when I moved them in the bath and also walk up and down on the edge of the bath. He loved it! He sadly died on Christmas Eve. He was lovely.

Curiosity with a touch of concern that you might drown in all that water. My cat doesn't actually sit on the edge of the bath... he just stands with his front paws resting on the edge to peer in and check that I have not disappeared into the clear depths.

Some cats have a fascination with water. Sophie is like that, Poppy is not.
My last cat Martha was fascinated with dripping faucets and loved to get in the tub after I bathed. She would also hang over the side while I took a bath, and I would pet her head with my wet hand until she looked like a drowning gray rat.

My cat lies next to the bath when I have a bath. I thought he would stop doing it when he got older, but he still does it. When he was a kitten he would look at me, sit up on his bottom and move his front paws back on forth on his head when I was washing my hair.

my cat millie does the same thing if not sat on the egde of the bath confused by the bubbles, then she stands with her paws on the edge of the bath looking in. though when there is no me or no water in the bath then she is quicker than lighting to jump in, skid up and down, then sit under the taps until i turn one on slowly so she can catch the drips before going down the drain.
cats dont like water....they do when it suits them..!

One of my cats is obsessed with water! He sits in the bath and pats the taps with his paws and miaows for you to turn them on so he can drink from them or just stick his paw in the running water.
Although they hate to get totally wet and immersed in water cats seem to be quite fascinated by it - sounds like your kitten is just young and inquisitive. Be careful she doesn't fall in though - my cat slipped when walking round the edge of the tub once and I had to leap out quickly as he became a ball of teeth and claws!

I have two British Blue shorthairs that are simply fascinated by water. They will sit and watch a tap drip for ages, so maybe your cat just likes to watch the bath water and the movement of it. Weird! Bless them!

Your kitten wants to be with you, normally she might want to sit on your lap, but not when it means getting wet!
Some cat like to watch water as well, especially when it is moving. That's why a water fountain drinking dish works so well for many cats.

Both of my cats do this, too!! When I shower, they run into the bathroom and attack the shower curtain from time to time. My guess has always been they don't understand why you're in there and want you to come out!!!! They both go into the tub to inspect after I get out. So funny.

I believe that your kitten enjoys the company, my cat minstral did the same when I lived on my own, he did not like it if I shut the door to keep him out! ( he also did not like it if I shut him in with me so I had to keep the door open - A good job that I lived on my own!)
