I just married the love of my life. She's 30 years old, Vietnamese and was a virgin when we married. On the other hand, I've had more women than I can remember. We've discussed this issue many times.

I believe the decision to have sex before marriage is driven by one's culture or society. My wife has lived in Vietnam all of her life, and never thought about having sex before she was married. Me being an American lost my virginity in high school, and would have been considered strange if I had stayed a virgin for much longer after that.

If you look at American or Western media, you will see a lot of pressure to have sex. Sex oozes out of everything in our society. It's not 'cool' to be a virgin. Perhaps it's wrong, but there's not much anyone can do to change it.

If it was a sin then half the world would be dead…. please realize that half the things in the Bible just don't happen. When you realize that the church gathered together only the books it wanted to put in the Bible and only canonized them…. you realize this is man's hand not god’s. The Bible is a copulation of many books ever written hundreds of years apart from each other.

If you believe in God then look at his actions not the words written down by humans and edited many many times by kings and the church. Why do you think they call it the King James Bible…. because it's his version !!

When the sexual revolution happen in the 60s did god kill all the sinners who had free love….. no they grew up and started computer companies and became millionaires.

Let me cite a couple examples here were things can just go way wrong…. you to look them up yourself. Remember that one about masturbation…. masturbation is a sin. It doesn't actually say that in the Bible. Do you remember the guy’s name who did it…… I'm waiting…. okay I'll help you it was Onan. Onan married his brother's wife…. she was not a virgin… and also his brother's wife…. although his brother was dead. Onan had sex with her but “spilt his seed on the ground” as to not get her pregnant. God got pissed at him for not getting her pregnant… and down went Onan. The fact that she was not a virgin was not even a problem. Genesis 38.9

You remember the simple city of Sodom…. Lot went up to a cave with his two daughters. Then his two virginal daughter is getting drunk and had sex with him…. their dad that is. Genesis 19:31. Where is the lightning bolt…. that's got a really pass off God this time….. nothing….. God was perfectly okay with this.

God does not punish those that are not virgins …. people do… and when people do this they are committing a sin of having a god before God…. they're playing God.

The only thing the 10 Commandments say about this is… shall not commit adultery and not covet thy neighbor's wife (house). Adultery is to have sex with another man's wife that is the pure definition…. and the woman would be the adultery and by the way another man's wife would not be a virgin. To not covet thy neighbor's wife….. (actually in some versions it says House)…. means don't mess with someone else's property that included wife, animals and as spelled out slaves (God seemed okay with that part).

Of course in the past the church would say if you weren't a virgin you couldn't get married in a church or if you were married before…. you know what they had to quietly throw all that out…. because who is going to show up now days?

I think he should except anyone no matter how much sex they've had with someone else. If you believe in the story of Mary Magdalene…. being that she was a prostitute and Jesus accepted her…. how can we do any less.

Waiting is challenging and there is plenty of opportunity. People can be weak.
