you can find some old card board boxes,,and actually make a box for it,,and stuff it with old news papers ,then wrap the box real good in self sealing tape,or shipping tape,,and then you can take it the nearest ups office or dhl ,any of them will take it,,its probably going to cost around 25 dollars to ship it though,,because its going to be classified as over size,,good luck hope this help,s.

what you can do is get several large boxes (like shipping boxes) and cut them to fit the tailgate. It might be a good idea to put quite a bit of newspaper around the corners and other areas for padding. Get some packaging tape (the thick clear kind) and tape the cardboard pieces around the tailgate that you've cut from the boxes. Don't be afraid to use a LOT of tape.
Once you're done, be prepared to pay a hefty shipping fee because of the size and weight of the tailgate. You may even have to ship it freight, which means you can't go through the post office, and you might not be able to ship to a residential address (depending on the rules of whatever shipping company you go through)

You will need to ship it freight with a company like Old Dominion. See rates sheet at link listed below:

Look into shipping it with a service that offers freight. I would call the UPS store or DHL.
