altoids are godly. the school nurse at my school used to do this for whomever came in trying to get home for a stuffed nose.

take an altoid. put it in your mouth. close your mouth. chew it. BREATHE ONLY THROUGH YOUR NOSE. It's pretty much an insta-fix.

A couple of thoughts.

First, do you have a vaporizer? If yes, you can put Vicks in it and then sit back and inhale the steam. Works very well. A Vaporizer is different than a humidifer because humidifers are designed to work with water and put moisture in the air -- this would not be a bad option for you either -- but I like the vaporizer with the Vicks combo better. Can buy these in Walgreens, CVS or any pharmacy.

Second, do you have access to a Chinese restaurant? I swear by Hot and Sour soup. My boyfriend swears by the Hot Mustard but that's too hot for me :) I had a cold last week and went and got some soup. Something about the combination of the spices, the steam and the garlic, I guess, but it works. So does the mustard if you can handle the taste.

I'm sure there are probably nasal sprays, but when I'm really stuffy, I use either of the above.

Feel better!

In one hand, grab a tissue. Put tissue to nose and push one side of nostril. Blow open side into tissue. Repeat with other side. Discard of tissue and repeat process if needed later.
