Why do the DVLA continue issuing driving licences and not restrict them. as they know the roads are too crowded . Come on there not like T>V Licences which would not matter and I could not go and get a council house until one becomes available.?

Because it's a legal right for somebody to take the driving test and get a licence if they pass!

God, it would be even more like a nazi state if that were allowed!

Well as many people NEED a car to get to and from work, why shouldn't anyone who can prove they are able to drive safely, be able to get a licence. In any case, how would they restrict them, they re talking of making the driving test harder.

That's just it the issue is that the roads are too crowded, so they need to stop that being a problem, not by restricting people from driving, or by charging them extra fares, i mean thats the freedom of being in this country, the ability to be independent and drive.

They do not enforce the law-they are just doing their jobs. It is up to our Government legislation to restrict driving licences if necessary.

That's a very good point but I can't ever imagine DVLA having the sense to bring something like that into action.

Maybe they should sell them on e-bay to get the most money out of the limited availability.
