has anyone ever used the personals and did they work?

Do you mean the personals in the paper? Never tried them. I have tried several of the on-line personals though, and in my opinion I would recommend you try one called eHarmony.com... I tried it and am now engaged to be married this fall to the best lady I have ever met!!! If you try the site, remember that to get the best match for you that you answer the questions HONESTLY!! If you don't tell the truth, then you wont get the best match for you (telling the truth in the questionnaire is the hard part-the rest is simple)
