If it did help you, how did it help you? I'm considering the book or going to a hypnotist. The gums, patches, all of that other stuff is not working. I absolutely love smoking. I need something to convince my brain that I don't need it anymore. If you've gone to a hypnotist, did that work for you....and how?

Please help me.

I stopped on the 1st of Jan (6 days ago) after reading Allen Carr's book "The easy way to stop smoking" and it really helped me. I can't say it involves hypnotism, it is rather a kind of brainwashing telling you everything that we all ready know as smokers.

One of the thing you realize when reading the book is that you are drug addict, and that you are trapped in this vicious circle of cigarettes. The great thing about the book, is that it discourages all kind of nicotine substitutes - when you use nicotine substitutes you remain a drug addict. Allen Carr just explains a lot of things that we as smokers know all ready, but he somehow explains everything in a way that convinced me that it was easy to stop.
The great thing is, you must smoke while you read the book, and only by the end of the book you smoke your last cigarette. And by then you want to be a non-smoker.
I am so happy I read the book. I know it is only day six, but I am really happy not to smoke anymore, and I know this time I will never smoke again. I am not stressed about it, not irritable and I don't want cigarettes. It is the longest in my life since I was 15 that I have lived without nicotine, and unlike other times when I used nicotine chewing gum I don't think about cigarettes all the time, and I don't crave them anymore.

Read the book, you wont regret it. And let me know if it worked?

I quit cold turkey. And I'm smoke-free for 3 years now! My girlfriend was hypnotized and she quit for 2 years so, yes, it can work. I think the trick is that you have to REALLY REALLY want to quit and you will - by whatever method you choose. Good luck to you!
