Garlic and onion are acidic in nature so even though logic dictates that you can neutralize with a base like any soap, you actually need to dissolve the fermone with an acid. So, YUPPERS, rub your hands with lemon juice.

Alternatively, go 2 the shops and look on the packaging of the liquid soaps, coz some say they get rid of those odours such as Carex.

I've heard that rubbing your hands on stainless steel will remove the smell of garlic, but I haven't tried. They sell steel baubles for this purpose, but who knows...

I wash my hands then rub them on the spout (stainless steel) it helps quite a bit.
