Ok... so I'm a 21 year old guy. I have a bit of an age complex. I have had it since I was about 13! The irony is everytime I get a year older, I look back on the past year and think I was young!
I am a musician starting out, and I just feel a huge need to validate my life with something urgently! Then I get depressed because I think i'm too old to start out, and I should just give up now. I hate the way I think.. it really gets me nowhere. So is 21 nearly 22 too old? Please I need some reassurance of some kind....

i have the same problem - but look at it this way...when you become 22, don't think you're much older than 21, think that it's better than being 46... kno what i mean?

hope it helps

cheers:)

Reassurance? How's this.......WAKE UP! You will get older every year just like everyone else. A 13 year old will consider it old, a 22 year old will not. A 22 year old will consider 42 old, a 42 year old will not. It all depends on the outlook of each person. The bottom line is simple...who gives a damn what anyone thinks is old. If you feel old, then you will perceive your life as an old and depressing person. If you feel young, then your life will be more fulfilling. Your mental perception is the key to your emotions. If you feel your life isn't fulfilled, then get moving and start doing the things you want to do in life.

The simple question remains...if you were to die in two weeks, what would you do in that time? The simple answer is....then why aren't you doing it now?

It is never too late to start a music career. Many famous musicians didn't make it big until later in life. My ex is an aspiring musician. He's 30 and still hasn't advanced. Regarding age in general-if you are young at heart you will never feel old no matter how old you are. And there are people in middle age and older that still look great and youthful. Look at Heather Locklear-she's 45 and looks like she's in her 20s! George Clooney is getting close to 50 and he is still sexy as hell. Just look at all the celebrities in middle age that still look great!

This is natural that by every passing day a person is getting older but this does not mean that one should not start any thing because he has gone old as compared to previous year.

My dear you must set a goal for yourself and just go for it. Do not worry about your age, you are still very young and have to concentrate on what you want to do with your life instead of thinking negatively. I am in my late sixties and am planning a major change in my life, so as you can see, age is just a number. Don't look back, just look forward. Good luck to you in your endeavors.
