The amount of baggage and the weight allowance per bag depends on the class of seating you have and sometimes if it's a domestic versus international flight. It's best to check the airline website for information on baggage requirements just to be sure.

The rule of thumb is for economy it's 2 bags checked, one bag carry on and one "personal" bag, laptop, purse for carry on.

It depends on the airline and local airport rules. Check airlines web site - it should have all their rules for baggage. You'll also find that there may be different limits (number of bags as well as total weight) for domestic flights vs. international flight.

I had two in check-in, but im not sure about the limit. you can have one bag in carry-on if youre in economy, and two if youre in business class, plus a small hand-bag.
