I can't tell you but I can list some causes of similar symptoms:
If you are taking certain medications they can cause loss of emotions. You could be in shock of some sort - or you are clinically depressed (you don't care what happens to you or around you).
You should probably seek professional help about this.. it is no way to live your life.

I am going through the same thing! I don't know why I have become so apathetic...
I would blame it on work. Since my job is frustrating and I don't have an active social live, I have become a dull person. I used to have all these great aspirations of what I wanted to accomplish. Supposedly my work should have helped in my monetary availability to do what I wanted. But now all is work, work is depressing and life is also depressive. I guess I don't feel sad, because if I were, it would prevent me of working at a certain level, and I would have an emotional breakdown.
You might be going through a phase of emotional denial you are not aware of. Or there is something which has opaqued all your goals in live. Either way, try reconnecting with your inner-self. It happened to me once before, because I lost the touch with all my values. I learned what made me apathetic, shut it out and attempted to recover the part of me I had lost. If you have changed, it is very probable it has to do with external stimuli: probably new stimuli added to the lot.
Being apathetic is unhealthy, try to fight it off. You can do it.

Well if you are seeing someone and they are giving you medication, that will do it for some people. So you need to go back to the doctor who is giving you the meds and let him know, and he can change the meds so you don't feel this way. Some medications will do that to some people. Now if you r not taking any medication and you are feeling this way, lost of all emotions, then i would say that you should get some professional help right away. Cause that is not normal for anyone. You could be depressing your feeling, there might be something in the pass that has happen, and now it is finally catching up with you. So if that is the case then you need to go and seek some professional help. I would say do this right away, cause the sooner the better. It is better to get those problems resolved now, so you can feel better and have your emotions back. you could be dissoicalating from your feels so you will not get hurt.

I have the same problem. I've figured out that it's so much easier not to feel. When I'm happy I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop to ruin my happy feelings. I don't want to feel sad, because well...who would? The only thing I could suggest is to talk to someone. It doesn't even need to be a therapist. Just finding someone that shares your feelings always helps me. Good Luck.

Sometimes you become so overwhelmed with emotions that your body goes into a "numb" phase. If this is the case, you will come out of it eventually. Certain drugs (prescription or recreational) can give you that feeling as well.

You've grown up. The realization of the brutishness of life has dawned on you. Don't worry when we reach a certain age we all get that way. It's just a matter of time.

Drugs or injury. Get outside and interact with some actual people. See if it helps.

could be a number of things.
My feeling is that you need to keep busy...and, let your feelings come back to you..instead of figuring them out...let them come back on their own.
