I bought chicken breast about a month ago and immediately froze it. I took it out for a couple hours exactly 3 days ago then refrigerated it. Is it okay to cook tonight?

Isn't it the same as buying it 3 days ago?

Since you froze is immediately, I'm guessing it should be just fine. That's how most people do their chicken, freeze and use later.

When in doubt, smell the chicken. If it's bad it will probably have a sour smell. If it has an overly slimy or really goey texture on top (a coating of sorts), that's usually a bad sign too. Rule of thumb is "When in doubt, toss it out"

But, from what you're telling me, it should be fine. Just cook it well.

It's ok to cook. Freezing usually gives you several weeks when you freeze that day. If it was still defrosting when you took it out, it should still be cold enough that bacteria hasn't really formed. Make sure you cook it to 180 degrees internally at the dark meat. Generally defrosting in the fridge is best.

Let your nose be the judge :)

The only thing you should avoid would be REfreezing it after you have already defrost it. That's when people get in to trouble. Yours should be fine.

It should be okay. I freeze food and then defrost it all the time and I'm still alive and well!
