any desi tip like we can store rice with mint leaves.......

well not in the container, but around it put those fanail balls{they are white} and poisonous, i forgot what they called in english, but get them from dollar store.

You can store with the help of neem Leaves, But over the period when you have to use the dal you have to seive it.The other Alternative is make a cement Lump with the help of some 15 gms mercury in it . This will make the Beeteles or insects out of theway.The shelf life of the Lumps is 2-3 years.

Add neem leaves with dals in the container.The container should be air tight.
Buy dal for your monthly consumption only.Do not buy for a longer period.This will also avoid beetles etc as you will have to open the container at least twice in a month.This will certainly avoid the beetles etc.

take mustard oil and salt in your hand rub both of them together rotate this hand in the container containing uncooked dals

Put the container in a zip lock type bag and store them in your freezer. They will keep there for many moons.

umm donno where u r but if any chance of sun put them in sun for a whole noon and yes ofcourse u can store after that in the containers with neem leaves.but firstly in the sun.if not slightly roast a little not so much that they turn red and the taste differs when u cook.
