There is no cheapest airline. Price depends so much on when you buy, when you fly, and what airport you depart. Look for deals in advance of your flight not restricting your search to any particular airline. Try to book months in advance. Also try other nearby airports. Be flexible with you travel days. Tickets are usually cheaper if you depart on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays and stay thru the weekend.

Web sites such as Travelocity. Orbit, etc are very helpful. There are others. You can also try the airline web sites. Just take the time to look.

It depends on where you are and where you need to go. Try Spirit Airlines and Air Tran. They have great on line sales. The smaller airlines offer great deals, so check what airlines fly out of your local airport.

there's really no such thing as a cheapist airline, it all depends on where you are going and when, flying out of what area, etc.

I have seen some very good prices for Jet Blue, but again, your experiences may vary.

A good source for me has proven to be Expedia, as it lists the costs of each airline going to your destination.

Good Luck.
