for a girl or Arthur for a boy. My friend called her cat Geronimo, but I can't think of anything different. I like the sound of adult names for cats, but I couldn't call it Poopsy!!

Why couldn't you call a girl Poopsy - It's cute! (Not for a boy though!).

How bout Boo Boo Kitty (Boo Boo) for a girl and Pops for a boy?

I like Betty and Arthur. But just remember you're going to be standing in the garden calling your cat's name a lot - so make it something that won't make feel like an eejit!
I once had to talk my friend out of calling his cat Bast (apparently some Egyptian cat god or something) by explaining what the neighbours would say.

Here are a few that I have used in the past.
Kitkat , Murphy , Kittles , Thumper , Gringo , and Dooley . Try naming it after a charachter from your favorite movie or TV show. Boris , Natasia , Gilligan , DR. Smith , Tom , Ginger, Carrie , Bob , Fred , Buffy , Jaja , Barney , Cosmo , Lola , Ozzie , Brian , Felix , Hugo , Scotty , Jinxy. Maybe give it a traditional dog's name like spike spot or fido. Don't worry the name will come to you.

Pocahontas or Sitting Bull if you want to go with a Native American theme.

If you want something really comical, go with another animal name. I have a cat named Lizard, my bro has a dog named Moose and a hamster named Monkey.

I'm not clear as to why you think the names Arthur and Betty to be comical.

But since you do, I'll suggest Felix and Felicia and hope you find those coical too

I knew a lady once who had the coolest name: Jonnie Fresh.
It kinda has a 50's greaser feeling to it, but it can be for either a girl or a boy. If it is a boy, you could change the "ie" to a "y."
