That's how the Christians spread their 'faith" in actuality....they are the biggest breeders in the US..they have families.

Their kids are the ones in school--that's why they want to push their ignorance based on a book they beat their children with and carry it over into the school system to stay consistant.

If you want the world to grow into enlightenment, it starts with what you teach your own children.

Nonchristians will burn in hell: You proved the point quite clearly that Christians have no reading comprehension whatsoever..
which explains why you misinterpret the bible consistantly.
You people really are idiots, why don't you learn to read and understand what you are reading....But than again, perhaps that is impossible.

this is a pretty ignorant comment, i'm sorry to say. Christianity is so prevalent primarily because over the last couple hundred years they have forced their religion onto people and if they didn't convert, they killed them. educate yourself

If you only knew. We do breed, but we don't do it on the scale of what you suggest so many Christians actually are doing, because we know that the earth is a finite substance and can only support so many people. We care about the earth and we show it in how we respond to what supports us physically. We refuse to put blinders on and just accept whatever our leaders tell us. We don't need to read a book to see that pollution destroys our lives and we know we wouldn't be able to survive without the animals. There are many Christians who believe exactly the same way we do, so breeding is an equal opportunity for all. Its the temptation to say that only one way is the only way that leads so many to fight, and kill. Sad but true.

There is a new flick on the net about this.... link is below. This movie is poking fun. But it actually is quite true. Idiots do breed more than the smart folks.

But hey, viruses are some of the most adaptable creatures on the planet, because they breed constantly. Maybe the idiots have it right, from an evolutionary standpoint. :)

I don't know that that will help. Children, much as we might wish otherwise, have minds of their own.

If a child is raised in an atheist family, there is nothing, no fear we could instill in them to ensure that they remain atheist. Unlike most religions which have hell and damnation to offer those who stray from the path.

So say we start bringing forth. Who knows what our offspring will be? I'd hate to think that any group would raise militant children, even if I think their opinions are correct.

Besides, I'd rather lose the war than have kids. Yuck!

Over breeding is a religious tool to increase numbers. Atheists tend to realize that world population must be reduced to ensure the survival of Humanity, unlike most of the "ultimate truths" (religions) who have the END OF THE WORLD as their stated and gleefully sought after goal.

You want the world to grow into YOUR enlightenment... I'm an agnostic, and it doesn't bother me one little bit what other people believe, because I'm in control of my own thoughts.

Why do you think it would be better to force YOUR beliefs on the world as a replacement from someone elses?

True-but I believe we're also way over populated (I do believe we're straining the environment too much & endangering different species by running their habitats down to make more room for us) so we have a responsibility to do our best at un-brainwashing them. I don't think adding to the population would help at all.

I think at this stage it's more important to change the system than to try to use it ourselves. There's no way we're going to be able to out-breed Christians any time soon, our only chance is to try to fix the education system to stop facilitating the perpetuation of ignorance.

Enlightenment cannot be forced. No worries, as America continues is slide into elected theocracy, the EU will continue to gain influence and will lead the way.

It is the nature of things.

That which remains responsive to change survives, that which stagnates despite change dies.

It's good to be around in a time when it's possible to see the death throes of religion, even if I won't see it erased from the planet in my lifetime.

It is a conundrum. Christians are really into indoctrinating their children (and others, which is why they push religion in schools). Atheists tend to just teach their children to think for themselves. However, being who we are, we tend to be emotional more than we're rational, so religious people definitely have an edge. They rely more on emotional arguments than rational ones.
