What you need to do,,,,,, Is start out around 60 grains,, shoot 3 shots,, That is is if your hitting thr target in the same place, all 3times,, dont worry about the placement of the shot,,, you can move the sights later,,,after you have shot in the same place every time,,,,then move the sights,, and then try some higher grains of powder,,,,BUT,, you have to shoot at 20 YARDS. Once you have have everything all set,,ie,, (Powder grains Sights!!) Then you can move back 100 yards or so,,

Suggest you read owners manual for maximum load. It has been a while since I used a black powder rifle, but I believe I used 90 grams for my .50 caliber.

No more than 90 grams, any where from 60-90grams should be good. But do read up on your gun, diffrent blackpowder guns act diffrent.
