I have an appointment with my dr. tom... i asked my grandma to come to for extra support. I have been taking psychiatric medications and against my families wishes i know it is time for me to come off of them and start working... but im still nervous about this and it shows...i called the dr.s office today and forgot to say thank you after hanging up the phone... any advice for what i can do to make a good impression with the dr. tomorrow so he will listen to me.???

The receptionist answers the phone...not the Dr.
He won't take you off your meds if you are stressed out about a little thing like not using your manners.

Well honey i hate to break it to you but just because you want to come off the pills the doctors know whats best. Its not a condition you can control its an imbalance in your brain that only medication can handle. I know this because i've been dealing with it since I was 8 years old. My family thought i would be fine after my mom died but i was one of those kids that just bottled it all up until i was about 12 when i developed PTSD (post tramatic stress disorder) and later was diagnosted with Bi-Polar and Chronic Anxiety. Now I take 2 pills a day go to work (i work 2 jobs by the way) and still see a counsler once a month but i used to go 3 times a week! but what you need to do is figure out what you like to do once you figure out what you liek to do you will be able to work with the medication as it will work for you. And the only you can convince a doctor is requesting a EKG scan it messures your brain activity so you might be able to prove ur imbalance isn't that bad where you need meds but they will def keep you in couseling just to make sure you stay on track hope this info helps to see your not the only one! good luck
