I'm genuinely not bothered, but in fact have mostly gone for guys around 6 ft.

But I chose them for the personalities not their height.

Some people say women tend to subconsiously go for guys who are the same height as their dads and brothers. But that's probably b*llocks.

Because I am on the short and very small side, I definitely like my men to be taller than me. There is something about dating a taller man that makes me feel safe and when he hugs me that is oooh so nice. Ideal height for my guy between 5'8 - 6'1

Well I'm 5'10" and i don't think i could date anyone below 5'8". I know it sounds awful, but there is nothing sexy about dating a guy a lot shorter than yourself (in my opinion anyway)!
I once tested my theory going on a date with a guy who was 5'5" who was smart, funny, good looking, educated - but it was just not happening for me!! I have only ever once had a relationship with a guy considerably taller than me (6'3") and it was wonderful. To be able to reach up to cuddle/kiss someone was very sexy!!
My Husband is the same height as me unless i have high heels on - but he prefers me to be taller than him and likes me in heels. I have dated men who ended up not liking the fact what i was taller than them. I do think that some men like to physically "look down" on their women.
Whatever floats your boat i suppose!!

My husband is 5'10". But I used to date a man that was 4'10". He was the most interesting and fascinating man I had ever met. He was very intellegent and I learned a lot in that relationship. Things I wouldn't know if I hadn't taken a chance with a short guy. But you seem to be normal height and 5'5" is quite normal for a girl.

I think it depends on ones height or choice. Let say am 5"4" definitly I will go with someone with my height or a little bit taller.

I do like guys taller than me but it is all in the personality of the girl. My best friends boyfriend is only like an inch taller than her and they get along great. Find someone who loves you for you and not what height you are.

Yeah defo they need to be taller - or at least the same height! I dated a smaller guy once and I just couldnt get over having to leave my heels at home and just constantly paranoid about the height thing - never again! xx

Your height would be fine, i would love a hubby just that bit taller, he is short and i feel uncomfortable wearing high heels. With a taller bloke you feel small, protected and i would wear the highest heels possible then. Unfortunately i now stick to no heels . I still love him though.

you are cool man. my hubby is 5 7 and i am 5 4 so you are tall. i don't want a man shorter than me though.

enjoy your height and go for any girl as long as you want to and she accepts you no matter your height. girls like men with humour you know. so brush up on those skills if your height is worrying you. but man you are average so chill out

Yea, I'm only 5'2 and I love being with taller guys. It gives you that sense of security to know you can just kind of look up at them I guess. Makes you feel like they could keep you safe from anything even if it's not true.
