Statistics show that the children of born Again Christians are more likely to be openminded and consider a broader spectrum of ideas than their parents. Is this encouraging to the rest of us?

Yeah, I don't have a hard time believing that cause usually, the next generation isn't as conservative as the previous. Whether it's encouraging or not, I am not very sure, but I know there are some good sides and bad sides to that. They may become so open-minded that they may readily accept other religious ideas, and a few may even totally leave their religious values. And they may be more tolerant of other religions. Yeah, encouraging AND discouraging at the same time.

Children always have more of an open mind than their parents. My parents are 'Born Again Christians' and I am more opened minded than they were. I had to come to a point where I made my faith my own, meaning I had to choose to accept it or deny it and find something else. I chose Christianity.

IF you define gullibility as "open minded", I guess you may be right. It is totally stupid to discard ones values if you dont have anything better to replace them with. A moral vacuum leads to....well just read an honest non-revisionist history book of the last century if you can read. You will see.
The most non-open-minded people are liberal secularists, most of whom dont even know why they believe what they believe. THey have to resort to name-calling (such as; "unscientific, religious freak, and such") to defend their position, or try to force a total monopoly of their ideas on young people in the name of the "separation of church and state". (IE, we cant defend our ideas on a level playing field, so we demand that all Christian thought and material be banned from the public arena in an open-minded manner) I have been in the schools and your "broad spectrum" of ideas is usually a mish-mash of gibberish from the atheistic left.

Nope, all fallacies.

Born again means born from above or born of God's Spirit.
They are not born again if they do not study God's Word.
Guess what, God's Word has not changed.

Make up another question only this time without the lies and bias.

It would be refreshing to have an honest question.
One where a person is seeking an answer and not stating lies.

How much more likely? It's obvious that children are going to be more open minded than adults who are already set in their ways, but from my experience the difference isn't nearly as big as it should be.

The programming is pervasive and even though they show signs of independence, the programming usually reasserts itself later. A little bit of religion is like a little bit of syphilis, unless eradicated, it always gets worse.
