A woman doesnt have to love and worship every part of a man's physique in order to truly love him! She may hate your pot belly, but still love YOU.
If a woman wants you to get rid of the pot belly, it could very well be because she cares for your health, not your appearance. Overused as the saying is, it's what's inside, thats what counts ;)

You have a much better chance if the love is established prior to the 'pot' belly. If she really loves you the pot belly won't affect her feelings. (but she may really want you to get rid of it)

Some women need to look past physical features. I for one do like guys with a little extra baggage. But then again, guys with six-packs are very attractive to. I guess it depends on the girl and her personality and the guy himself.

yes! if you possess qualities that she can appreciate! appearance means almost nothing. believe me, personally i, do not trust TOO handsome men - they turn out to be unreliable and womanizers! so, don't worry! act like u are a king of beauty!
