I assume you mean a word that would actually be USED in modern English (and so appear in many English dictionaries).

Now if you take a careful look at the wikidpedia link provided in another answer you'll see that "scraunched" was a coinage that appeared in 1620 -- there is NO current usage of this word!

In fact, be this method, there is no single answer. Rather there are a number of nine-letter words. The wikidpedia article lists 19 of them:

broughams, craunched, schlepped, scratched, scraughed, screeched, scrinched, scritched, scrooched, scrounged, scrunched, sprainged, spreathed, squelched, straights, strengths, stretched, throughed, thrutched

The one of most interest is "strengths" since it is the longest one-syllable word with only ONE vowel.

(For anoldmick, who said "mile" -- cute, but a "league" is longer.)

ouch! harsh telling that i complain for no reason...it would help tho if i actually did! obviously you didnt read the question--i asked if anyone knew anythin to try, not for someone to call me things im not...its also low to say ppl wuld be happy eating my garbage when im not even wasting food...oh yeah i totally hate them so i go out and buy tons of fruit and veggies, go home, put them on a plate, and then throw them away! wow--im such a great person! next time before you say things bout someone you need to get your facts straight....oh by the way you should know what im talking about but if you dont then remember the rude things youve said to ppl on the internet for no reason and youll remember what you said---but my impression of you so far tells me that going thru all those would take a VERY long time
