I've had my belly button pierced for 10 years and I had never taken it out. I just recently had to take it out because I had to have surgery and have not put it back in. Now the hole is infected. Any ideas on how I can get in the hole to clean it better?

Start off with cleansing it with 1 part water, 1 part salt. The water should be as hot as you an stand it and seal it over your pierced area for about five minutes twice a day. You also need to go down to your local piercing shop. They can give you more information and take a look at the area. You probably gained the infection from the surgery.

I noticed that Ear Care solution you get at the piercing places works well, or you can use some hydrogen peroxiide. That's what worked when mine was infected.
