What are you into? If you love motorcycles than do a theme in that with a mural of a guy on a bike and tire tracks that go around the room on the wall. Think about what colors you are drawn to when you look at clothes. Do you have more blue shirts than any other type in your closet? Is there a blue that pulls at you more than say light blue, like royal? Is there a fav product or show that you just love? What are the colors from the packaging or posters? Pull something from there. I would not pick a movie tv show or such as a theme because taste always changes, but colors from the movie posters that help you be inspired or think of the movie or show could be good.

If you like a book or movie choose colors from the theme posters. If the colors are dark and you want to change them in a couple of years paint over the the walls with a taupe color first and then you will have a blank colored surface again to start a new theme.

my brother in law (he's 15) did his room in a really cool bluish gray. it looks cool with his mint green sheets, more grown up. My son's (he's 11) room is a dark blue and he has glow in the dark stars all over the ceiling. No theme really but it look great when he turns of the lights to go to bed.

How about gray, navy blue and light blue. You could paint the walls a gray/silver color, get a plaid comforter with navy blue, light blue and gray in it, paint a plaid geometric design on one wall, a rug in one of the colors. You could replace fixtures and wall plate with brushed metal and you could get shelving in brushed metal, paint picture frames in navy and light blue to hang on the walls.
