hello my partner and i are planning to get married aug 08; we have no idea where to start or what budget we have. we want to get married in a church with a traditional style, and have a sit down reception meal with close friends and family. a disco, music on the nite. any help would be apprieciated as we just havent got a clue.

Wow, I've never heard anything like that. Usually wedding planners can be very helpful. This one sounds very overpowering. I think you ought to have a heart to heart with the bride, and make sure that her wedding is going the way she would like it to go, and how she would like to remember it. Have her tell the planner that she feels like the wedding planner has changed the way she would like to have her wedding too much, and that she has decided to just have a family affair. Small weddings are gaining popularity big time. One bride said, "If I don't think they wouldn't have me over for dinner, then I didn't invite them." Now I'm not sure about going that far. Perhaps have just close family and friends. It will be lots of fun, and then you can save the money for more fabulous details for your wedding or for after the wedding. Question- How are you going to help plan a wedding in Atlanta, GA in the USA....that be hard. Take out an AD in the UK newspapers....that would bring you more business.
