it will scab, do not pick at it or you'll ruin the tat, let the scabs fall off by itself....i can't remember any of mine ever leaking ink, but i would think its possiable for it to do so if your skin rejects it.........i don't know got me stumpt on that one. (i copied and pasted the aftercare instuctions below)
Wash and Treat After you remove the bandage, you will want to wash your tattoo. Use lukewarm water and antibacterial soap to gently wash away any ointment and to completely clean the area. Do not use a washcloth or anything abrasive. Your hand is your best tool in this case. Then pat (do not rub) the area firmly with a CLEAN towel or paper towel to get it completely dry. Follow with a very light application of ointment. Bacitracin would be the first choice in ointments, but if you don't have any, A&D vitamin enriched ointment (medical grade - not the kind used for diaper rash) is also acceptable. **Do not use Neosporin. This is a wonderful product for cuts and scrapes, but not for tattoos. Some can have an allergic reaction to the Neosporin, which causes little red bumps. When the bumps go away, so does the ink, and you end up with a polka-dotted tattoo.** Continue this procedure at least twice a day for two or three days. After that, continue to keep it clean, but you can use lotion when needed instead of ointment, to keep the skin soft. See also: Aftercare Contradictions: Why there are so many views on what ointment is best.
Scabbing and Peeling After a few days, you will notice some peeling and possibly a little scabbing. Excessive scabbing indicates a poorly-done tattoo, but a little is sometimes normal and no need to panic. You will also start to itch, just like a sunburn when it begins to heal. The advice here is, don't pick, and don't scratch! If the skin itches, slap it. If it is peeling, put lotion on it. And if it is scabbing, just leave it alone. Your tattoo is almost healed, and now is not the time to ruin it!
Protection from the sun After your tattoo is healed, from now on, you will always want to protect it from the sun's ultraviolet rays. These can fade and damage a brilliant tattoo very fast. Before spending a lot of time in excessive heat, protect your tattoo with a minimum 30SPF sunblock. This will keep your tattoo vibrant for many years, and it will continue to be a source of great pride.

Sounds like a great tattoo.
1.)Yes it will scab, they all do. Just don't pick at it or scratch it.
2.)no they don't leak ink. It's just a myth.
3.)Make sure you get some Tattoo Goo. It comes in a small tin or tube. They have a soap also. You can get it either at your tattoo shop or on their website.
Just put a lite coat of Tattoo Goo on your new tat 2x a day. Keep it clean...don't scrub it! If you have to put clothing over it, place a bandage on it litely so that the ink does not come off onto your shirt. Let it air out as much as possible. Within a week or 2 it should be all healed. But you still want to be careful with it and make sure it doesn't get scratched.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Yes it will scab and look gross. It will itch like hell but whatever you do do not scratch it. You should slap it when it starts to itch, this will help with the itching and will help set the ink. The ink will leak a little right after you get it. As for the care of it, You must wash it daily with a gentle scent free hand soap (Tattoo Goo has a great soap and tattoo care kit.) you also need to put either neosporin or tattoo goo on it for the first 3-7days not letting it dry out. After that you need to use a lotion that is scent and color free. Do not let your tattoo dry out and do not pick at the scab. Try not to let your clothes rub on it to much. Your Tattoo artist should have gone over all of this with you. If they did not I would recommend looking for another tattoo artist that offers after care.

1) Yes it will scab, but may not be noticeable. When the tattoo starts to heal it will itch - DO NOT SCRATCH. Just pat it & that will help the itching.
2) It won't leak ink, but dried ink will slough off during the healing process. This is normal and expected.
3) Your tattoo artist should have told you...shame on him or her. The tattoo should have remained covered for 1-4 hours. Afterwards, wash it gently with a non-scented soap or shower gel. (Dish soap actually works too). Lightly coat the entire tattoo with A&D Ointment or Lubriderm Lotion. You can shower and wash it normally, but PAT IT DRY...DO NOT RUB until it is completely healed (anywhere from 1-2 weeks).

Yes it will scab and no matter what don't scratch it , your ink will fade out as the dead skin falls off but that is normal, I used cocoa butter on mine, you just use a little bit to keep it from getting dry. Good luck with the healing process, it is the worst part about getting the tattoo in my opinion. And make sure you avoid direct water contact and don't soak it.

didn't they tell you how to care for it at the tattoo parlor?? but just incase I have 4 so I know how to take care of them... yes it will scab! and DO NOT pick it or you will ruin the tattoo... it won't leak ink ... when you first get it it may look like it is leaking ink but it won't affect the tattoo ... you are supposed to leave it covered when you first get it and the next morning you are supposed to have a shower and clean your tattooo with a mild soap like ivory .. after that first shower you aren't supposed to get it wet ... like have a shower but in and out don't stay in the shower too long.... don't wear clothes that will rub against the tattoo keep tattoo out of the sun and you can not go swimming for a few weeks
check out this website it has a page about healing after a tattoo

it should scab if you take care of it properly. but depending on where you got it, it may not scab like you think it will.
the ink does leak out a bit at first for maybe the first 24 hours. it's totally normal.
here are my tattoo artist's instructions for tattoo care:
Tattoo Aftercare
Leave plastic wrap on for at least 1 hour.
Wash tattoo with mild soap, being certian to remove any ointment or blood.
Pat dry with towel, and let tattoo air dry for 10 minutes.
Apply a light coat of Tattoo Goo or A&D Ointment and re-cover with a new sleeve of saran wrap.
Tape down the plastic wrap and sleep with it covered overnight, this step helps to clear most of the scab out of the tattoo.
In the morning wash tattoo with mild soap, being certian to remove any ointment or blood.
Wash your new tattoo 3 to 4 times a day(mild soap). apply A&D ointment
Your tattoo will peel in 4 to 5 days. When this happens, stop using the ointment and switch to a good lotion like Lubriderm, Curel or Shea Butter.
The healing and color retention of your tattoo depends on how well you take care of it.
No baths for 10 days
No swimming in clorinated water or dirty bacteria infested lakes or oceans for a month
No sun contact or tanning beds EVER
i have taken care of all of my tattoos this way and they have turned out wonderfully.

You should have been told all this when you got the tattoo done. With the two I have had, I was handed a sheet listing what to expect when along with care instructions. Word of advice though (and this is probably common sense)...if it starts itch (which is common when healing...for anything really) don't scratch it...you risk scarring it, f'ing it up scratching it while it's still healing. Also, for like two weeks after it was done, I was instructed to use a cream/gel on it...and the guy who did mine recommended a diaper gel type deal which was about the consistency of vaseline. And it may well peel too...kind of ironic for me, I had a large sun done in the middle of my back (my middle name is Sunshine), it felt like a bad sunbun for several hours after and it pealed a week later.
