Well,
I am actually planning for a wedding coming up in June. We have the church, the dress, the tuxedo's etc. all done. I wouldn't leave things for the last minute, it isn't a good thing. A lot of the time, the church (if you are using a church) will want a donation.
Also, I would see if any family members can help out with such things as flowers and cakes. My mother was a florist, so I am getting her to do the flowers for us, my dad can make cakes and was a wedding photographer, so we got him to do that. Ideas, well, Flowers can be rented like what my mother is doing (silk flowers), she said it is a lot cheaper to do, she will of course leave the real flowers for things like the beauqae for the bride and the corsauges. (Think it is spelt right). I would think of family members to help out, even my sister is an estitichian and she is doing a lot of the makeup and skin related things. A Piano is a good idea (someone to play music as the bride enters and such). Some music ideas could be Canon in D for the entrance of bride, seating of parents could be ave maria. I really hope all this helps you out, planning for a wedding is long and stressing sometimes. Also, now that I think of it, go to bridal shows to get some ideas. Hope this helps.
Wee Man.

Firstly, don't forget to always remember that your wedding is about you two, and not whether the flowers arrive, or is great aunt lillian going to drink all the sherry etc etc because people will remember your wedding whatever. OK.
Secondly, a good way to write your list is to go thru the scenarios in your head, from the morning that you two wake up ( what would you need) to being a guest at a wedding ( is there somewhere for children, if invited etc)
Priorities are what you wear, getting there, SAYING I DO, reception, and poss a disco later.
Don't sress, everything will be fine. x

Hi well as im getting married in 6 months im new to all this and my mind is still fresh, i was quite supries how much things you need first of all.
1, Decide where you are getting married church registry office or hotel and the date of course
2. Once you have decided go see vicar as soon as possible or registratr to set the date of the wedding.
3. Decide where you want to have your reception and evening do.
4. Book the reception, evening do and first night accomodation. ASAP oh and a phtographer/videographer or both
.5 Decide on whos best man, bridesmaids, and ushers. and guests.
6 Book appointments for wedding dresses to be tried on and bridesmaids dresses.
7. Decide on the theme and colours for your wedding.
8.Go see about the Flowers.
9.Go see about getting your cake.
10, Go see about wedding cars.
11. Book hair trials for you and your bridesmaids.
12. Get your Hubby to be and usher and bestman to pick suits.
13 Get rings
14 Decide if your having invites and place cards printed, or buying them from a card store.
15, Book dj for wedding evening do.
16. Send out Save the date cards
17.Get wedding shoes in advance so you can get use to wearing them.
18 decide what make up you will be wearing if you going to do it on your own or get someone to do it for you.
You may need to run through this and put it in order but this is most things, if i think of out else i will let you know. As you go and see people they will tell you about deposits and things, and when to go for vow readings and various things.
I know loads of people where saying its ages away and we have got mostly everything sorted, but like i say it comes round fast so do everything now and they its done and nothing can falll through.
Get a folder as you will need various bits for note and number amd you dont want to loose anything. Some place have wedding fashion shows and things and its good to go along as you can get ideas on dress and things and you get lots of stuff given.
It seems alot to take in but you will get through it.
I wouldnt get a wedding planner as they tend to do what they want to do. or tend like there giving you ideas but you tend to go with what they want or they thing is best. If you do decide to get a wedding planner tell them what you want and not the other way round.
All the best for the wedding, and i hope you have a great day.

If you have selected a reception location, many times they will provide you with a check list and time line of when things need to happen. If you want to plan your wedding on line, there are many websites that have planning tools built into their website.

K go to the website theknot.com it is amazing. i am on it and it has a checklist so all I do is go into it and check off when i have done stuff. I LOVE IT. I am so unorganized and I procrastonate so it was perfect for me. TRUST me it is better than any book. You can also go on it and look for ideas, (dresses, flowers, tuxes, rings etc) and put your budget on it.
Good luck and yes it is normal to feel overwhelmed!

Dress, suits, button holes, flowers for the church, honeymoon, speeches, gifts for the parents, gifts for bridesmaids/best man/ushers.
Sort out someone to be toastmaster for the speeches
Wedding rings, Table plan, cake, gift list, church booking, having your bans read.
Plenty more I'm sure!

Go to www.confetti.co.uk or www.youandyourwedding.co.uk
Or buy a bridal magazine - they have loads of ideas....
Match your flowers with your bridesmaid colours....
For favours, what about a national lottery scratchcard for every person

They have some really cool ways to do table settings. I got married last year - was a great day - advice, get lots of help, can get a little stressful, but most of all, on the day - let everything go and just enjoy
